Every now and then I try to paint something I haven't painted before. Jellyfish are fascinating because they seem so weightless. Must be nice to just drift in the current...

 

This painting ended up being harder than it looked. I wanted to suggest a lot of detail in the tendrils, instead of painting every little bit like I usually do. It took some restraint.

The head (cap? bulb? blobby thing on top?) is translucent, with another cap inside it showing through. You can even see through the head entirely in some places, so mixing all those colors was fun!
