Experimenting with a slightly rougher style, and focusing on warm-vs-cold color changes with this one.

Canyons are always great to paint because of the interesting shapes and colors in the layers of rock.

 

This one almost landed in the "failure" category, but I managed to pull it off. About halfway through it was a dog's breakfast. Thank god I paint really softly, so I was able to put some better brushstrokes over the top.
