My dad recently visited Switzerland and had the good luck of staying in a hotel with view of the Matterhorn - one of the most famous mountains in the world! It's instantly recognizable because of its shape, and the fact that it stands alone.
I ended up researching its history and it's fascinating because it was one of the last mountains ever to be climbed. It's also one of the most dangerous.
Fun fact: Toblerone chocolate gets its distinct triangle shape from the Matterhorn :)
