 I've been obsessed with the balance of warm and cool colors lately, and this might be the most extreme example yet. Can you believe that the same snow on the same mountain can be deep purple and bright orange at the same time? I mean, snow is supposed to be white, riiiiight?

A lot of drawing and painting is about giving up preconceived notions of what things look like, and trust our eyes instead of our brain. In a way we have to unlearn a lot of things before we can learn how to paint.
