This is another landscape that reminds me of home. I'm from Germany originally, close to the North Sea. Don't let it the sun & sand fool you, it's freezing cold in this picture and it's blowing a gale.
I tried to achieve a more painterly look than usual, with more visible brush strokes. Also, behold - an underpainting! I'm still getting the hang of those... I found the trick for me is to prep them a few days in advance so they have time to dry. That way they don't bleed into everything I paint.
