Pale Mountain

 

Pale Mountain (4x6")

I tried this one with a pink underpainting, for fun. It worked alright!

Overall though, the mountain itself is a bit too fuzzy and the hard edge between green foreground and grey/purple background doesn't really establish enough depth to be interesting. The atmospheric depth along the mountains gets pretty lost too.

I also suspect (I'm not sure!) that the lack of truly warm colors makes this whole piece a little dull. Maybe a more saturated, warmer underpainting would've helped.

Overall not one of my favorites, but we live and learn...
