Pink Pear

 

Pink Pear (4x4")

After a few exhausting attempts at landscapes (most of them ended pretty badly) I'm back to my happy place, which is fruit. As with everything I paint I'm fascinated by bounce light as you can see. I love the way the pink bounces up against the pear in the form shadow, and the way light from the pear bleeds into the drop shadow on the ground. Light gets more saturated as it bounces around and picks up local colors, and that's incredibly satisfying to paint.
